Exhibition Catalogue for the Works of Rivera and Kahlo

This editorial exhibition explores the intersection of the lives and works of Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera. The catalog acts as a work of art in itself, using contemporary graphic design to unite Frida's introspective surrealism with Diego's social monumentality. It is designed to guide the viewer through the duality of love, pain, and color that defined the most iconic couple in Mexican art.

Logo Creation

FINAL LOGO

The Feminine 'F' and Masculine 'D': The logo's structure reflects the duality of the artists. While firm, the 'F' (Frida) features more refined strokes, whereas the 'D' (Diego) is integrated in a more compact and enveloping way. This symbolizes their complex and inseparable relationship.

The Transversal Brush: Replacing the horizontal bar of the 'F' with a paintbrush is the master stroke. It represents that art is the meeting point of their lives. It doesn't just cross their initials; it suggests that their stories are "painted" together. The organic shape of the brush breaks the geometric rigidity of the letters, adding a handcrafted and authentic touch.

"The design doesn't end on the computer. I built a detailed model to experiment with the layout and lighting of the room. Seeing the project in three dimensions was key to adjusting the proportions of the catalog and the graphic elements, achieving total harmony between the work of Frida and Diego and the museum environment."
